Sonnet 38 - First time he kissed me, he but only kissed

First time he kissed me, he but only kissed
The fingers of this hand wherewith I write;
And ever since, it grew more clean and white,
Slow to world-greetings, quick with its 'Oh, list,'
When the angels speak. A ring of amethyst
I could not wear here, plainer to my sight,
Than that first kiss. The second passed in height
The first, and sought the forehead, and half missed,
Half falling on the hair. O beyond meed!
That was the chrism of love, which love's own crown,
With sanctifying sweetness, did precede.
The third upon my lips was folded down
In perfect, purple state; since when, indeed,
I have been proud and said, 'My love, my own.'

Thnak God i still have my prayers with me. I know God loves me so much thats why i have to go through this....its just so hard because i truly gave my all, my all heart and mind......i never did that before thats why its all so new and so painful..for the first time i truly love someone but sadly, quickly that someone forgets...i know he is very happy now with maybe someone new..im glad though i know im still hurting inside but we all deserve to be happy too so i guess he much prefer someone who is there for him. what i was to him maybe was really nothing to him all that i have show with all of my heart maybe was not what he wanted.....i wish him well....

Its been this long but why..

i know that its been so long but it seems somehow I can't forget you
After all that we've been through..Thinking that I deserve it..Now I realize that I really didn't know..If you didn't notice how you meant everything to me..Quickly I'm learning to love again..All I know is I'm gonna be ok..It'll all get better in time i know it will be...Even though I really love you...You know I couldn't turn on the TV without something there to remind me of you..how songs i will hear from the radio will remind me of how u sing to me before..Was it all that easy to just put aside your feelings..its really hard but i know i have to move on...Since there's no more you and me..It's time I let you go..So I can be free and live my life how it should be...No matter how hard it is I'll be fine without you..It's gonna hurt when it heals too but even though I really love you I'm gonna smile cause I deserve to it will all get better in time...i will really miss you even thought i am not allowed to anymore..

Love at a Distance

5 rules to making a long distance relationship last

Thanks to the fact that singles are travelling more than ever- for work and for pleasure, plus the ever present popularity of online dating, more and more of us are finding ourselves caught up in long distance love affairs. It's no easy feat charming your beau from afar, but before you decide to trade your remote Romeo for a more local lover consider these tips:

Rule No. 1

Communicate in some way every day. To maintain an intimate connection with your babe you'll need to make each other feel involved in the everyday activities. Emails and text messages throughout the day, even if just a few lines, will go a long way in maintaining the warm and fuzzies. Don't forget the seemingly mundane details: filling him in on the ride to work this morning will let you both know that you're not missing out just because you may be more than just an area code away. Include cute snapshots to really make him feel in the know. Regular phone sessions will be crucial for more in-depth chatter. If marathon calls don't fit your budget, especially when you're saving for your next visit, consider phone cards, instant messaging programs, and Skype - a free online phone service you can take to the next level with the help of a webcam (and perhaps a strategically chosen outfit.)

Rule No. 2

Don't avoid the important questions. While you treasure your exchanges more than your latest shop splurge, don't ignore the big issues for fear of disturbing the peace. It's important for both of you to map out your game plan for the relationship. Plus, discussing your future will give you both hope that all of your efforts will pay off. Will you ever consider relocating in the future? Are you agreed that it's okay to date others? While possibly difficult and awkward to discuss, keeping your expectations crystal clear will save you from possible misunderstanding and heartache down the line. Just remember that while important questions are key, interrogations are not so apropos.

Rule No. 3

Consider yourself lucky. Before you drive your girls crazy whining about how much you miss your sweetie, consider the benefits. While everyone around you is complaining about their relationships losing that je ne sais quoi, you and your man are destined for a prolonged "honeymoon effect". Both of you will maintain a higher level of passion, since you're more likely to appreciate each other and not take your time together for granted. So when your average Jack and Jill are still arguing about toothpaste in the sink, you're more likely to be getting steamy between the sheets. Being far apart also allows you to maintain your individuality, something that often gets lost in the couple shuffle. Extra time to keep up with family, friends, and all your fave solo interests is not only a good distraction when loneliness sets in, but also ensures you stay as intriguing as when you first met.

Rule No. 4

Find creative ways to bond. Talk about things you would like to do together in the future, anything from making dinner together to visiting a special destination. If you're interested in seeing the same movie, watch them separately and discuss them together afterwards. Try doing the same with books and music. You can still have shard experiences, even if you're miles apart. The element of surprise can also go a long way. Sending unexpected notes and small tokens in the mail will no doubt brighten his day. Plus, what goes more perfectly with your après work cocktail than a surprise voicemail message from your crush?

Rule No. 5

Know when to call it quits. While this is tough if any relationship, it can be even harder to admit to after you've spent hundreds on airfare. Be honest with yourself when you feel like you or your man could be losing interest. Are things beginning to feel one-sided? Do arguments seem frequent and unfounded? Committing to a long-distance relationship is no easy endeavour, but when the whole thing seems more work than play, it's time to re-evaluate and possibly say your goodbyes. Overall, remain optimistic and focus on the positive points as much as possible. You'll most likely face more challenges together than most couples ever will. Just think, the bond you build while fighting to stay together will likely last long after the reunion...and the rest of your every day challenges will seem like a snap!

Chicks tell all

Well, guys, here it is: Everything you always wanted to know about women but were afraid to ask. Compiled from guys who really want to know, for example...

What's it like to have breasts? Admittedly, the novelty wears off by the time we're about 15. I think it coincides with our first gym class as a full-breasted young woman. Then they're mostly a pain in the ass: finding the right bra for them, having guys direct entire conversations at them, having kids (and men) gnaw on them for a few years, then watching them fall victim to gravity. They can be fun to dress up (or down, as the case may be), push up, or let someone run their fingers and lips all over them once in awhile (just remember, they are not toys to be tweaked, squished or poked whenever you feel like it). Why not strap a couple pieces of round fruit (large oranges are about a C-cup, cantaloupe a D-cup) on your chest for a day and see how it feels?

How come it takes you so long to come? Most sex books clock the male orgasm at about 3 to 5 minutes from time of erection, while women need at least 7 to10 minutes. Other factors to consider: women usually get a later start on this as young'uns, and we get easily distracted by things - like you being concerned about how long it's taking us to come. And it's just not as obvious with us. Sometimes you gotta prop up the hood and spend some time getting to know the engine, if you know what I mean.

Do you really fake it sometimes? And if so, why? Yes, we've all faked it. But most of us eventually realize it's a waste of time and energy. Sorry, but even your ego isn't worth it. Besides, it inevitably backfires when we realize we have to make the real thing live up to prior performances so we don't get caught. A trained professional will know the difference. If your partner gets up after and starts cleaning the windows or organizing her closet, she probably faked it. If she lies there limply with a stupid look on her face, drooling slightly, give yourself a pat on the back. As for why we fake it, well... the aforementioned ego, boredom and, once again, our concern that you are concerned that we are taking too long.

What does sperm taste like? Melted overripe brie - salted.

What does a female orgasm feel like? Good. Not unlike that full body rush you get when you're a kid on a swing and you drop your head back on the way down and then pull it up real fast when you swing forward. Though sometimes it's more subtle - more like a case of bad gas.

What does it feel like to have a period? Not good. Imagine feeling like someone has injected air in your abdomen and accidentally slipped some shards of glass in there while they were at it. Add a steady, dull ache and the occasional warm gush that feels like you just wet yourself, and that pretty much covers it. Oh yeah, sometimes it smells bad, too.

How come we can't blame your manic behaviour and inexplicable tears on PMS but you can? See, just because our manic behaviour might be explained by PMS, it might not be. That's our call. If you make the call, any legitimate bad feelings are undermined thus making us want to slug you. Besides, since we have to suffer most of our life with our period (see above), we get to make all the rules about it.

Why is intuition a female thing? It just is, I can feel it. One guy told me he suspected female intuition was a secret weapon to make men feel guilty and 'fess up to any crimes, since "she'll know anyway."

What's our big beef with testosterone? "It's like garlic to a vampire," one guy complained. "Women are always blaming shit on testosterone." Men have more testosterone and display proportionately more obnoxious, aggressive behaviour. You do the math. Admittedly, the too-much-testosterone explanation is becoming a bit clichŽ, and I've been told, in fact, that the hormone is sometimes used to subdue overly aggressive behaviour. Perhaps we should let this one go and just blame stupid macho behaviour on men.

Who made you the experts on relationships? Why, we did, of course. Pretty smart, eh? Chalk it up to female intuition, but, quite simply, you guys just don't get it. If you would only see things our way, it really would make it all a lot easier.

Why can you objectify a man's body but get upset when we comment on how hot some chick is? Thousands of years of history.

Why do you ask if you look fat in an outfit when you don't really want to know? Yeah, that one's pretty much a no-win situation. If you say no, we think you're lying. If you say yes, you're dead. The best way to avoid this is to tell us we look great at all times.

Why do you love makeup? Recently, as I was dancing around the room after finding out that my TV work gets me 30-per-cent off MAC products, my boyfriend had visions of hard drives and screen savers. What can I say. Everyone knows women wear makeup for each other. In ancient matriarchal tribes, women painted their faces even when there were no men around. There you go, it's war paint. Plus, it's fun. And a great way to fake it when you look like shit.

How can you love shopping that much? As a full-fledged shopaholic, I like to think of shopping as more of an ongoing daily quest for the ultimate deal on the ultimate outfit. Each discovery is an achievement, each major score a skilled accomplishment. And yes, we really do need another pair of shoes.

Why do you go to the bathroom in pairs? So your friend can hand you some toilet paper under the stall because you have, once again picked the one with no paper. That, and because we must find out who each other wants to sleep with outside the bathroom and sort out any overlap so things don't get ugly later.

How come you can reject our sexual advances, yet when we say we're tired you sulk? This is your fault. You are the ones who perpetuate the idea that men want sex anytime, anywhere. Besides, most of us are still new at this taking-initiative thing. We're a little insecure still.

Do you really enjoy giving oral sex? As long as you let us control the rhythm and speed and don't start thrusting it down our throat, fellatio is fun. It helps if you don't smell like an old sock too.

Why do you get annoyed when we do nice things for you after you've asked why we don't do nice things for you more? Because we know you're only doing it because we told you. The trick is to not have to be asked; but if you must be asked, then the trick is to wait till we forget we asked and surprise us.

Why is it that when you want to talk about something we don't want to talk about you bug us until we talk about it, but when you don't want to talk about something we're supposed to respect that?

I don't want to talk about it.

Chris Brown - I Wanna Be Lyrics

[ Sigh ] Look.. I know we've been friends for a while
now.. But, I just feel like I can confess
to you.. It's gonna be hard but.. Alright here it goes...

[ Verse 1: ]

Imagine that the pillow that you cried on was my
chest, and the tissue that you wiped your
face with was my hand
Girl imagine if you needed advice about some other
guy, I'm the one that comes to mind
Not tryna' hear you tell nobody that I'm just a friend,
just trying to make sure I'm that body
that you call your man, and anytime you need a
shoulder, It shows not a day, but what I'm
tryna' say is, I wanna be...

[ Chorus: ]

The last number you call late at night,
first one that you dial when you open your eyes...
Wanna be the one you run to, wanna be one that ain't
gon' hurt you, I wanna be him, I wanna be
yea..
Be the man makin yo girls jealous, be the guy
that's shuttin' down all the fellas..
whatever you need, girls it's all me.. Your soldier
your friend or your lover, girl, I wanna
be...

[ Verse 2: ]

Would it be cool, would you mind if I called you ma
boo, what if the next whip you was pushin'
was the one I bought for you?
Can I be the one that meets your pops and take your mama
shoppin', you're the only one I like.
Have you thought about it, wait, really thought about
it? Maybe you should take some time call
your girls and talk about it, yeah.
Cuz' I done already made up my mind, don't need no more
time to know if I wanna be with you, I
wanna be...

[ Chorus ]
The last number you call late at night, first one that you dial when you open your eyes...
Wanna be the one you run to, wanna be one that ain't
gon' hurt you, I wanna be him, I wanna be
yea..
Be the man makin yo girls jealous, be the guy
that's shuttin' down all the fellas..
whatever you need, girls it's all me.. Your soldier
your friend or your lover, girl, I wanna
be...
[ Verse 3: ]

Put me on your screen saver, all over your myspace
and, make me one of your top favorites,
that's where I wanna be... The one you cryin' for,
(stayed up all night fightin' for) wanna be
your good, bad, love, hey girlll..

[ Chorus ]

Cross my heart hope to die, on everything that's good,
I'mma do you right, show you right, get
this understood. Cross my heart hope to die, on
everything thats good, I'mma do you right
show you right, get this understood...

[ Chorus ] The last number you call late at night, first one that you dial when you open your eyes...
Wanna be the one you run to, wanna be one that ain't
gon' hurt you, I wanna be him, I wanna be
yea..
Be the man makin yo girls jealous, be the guy
that's shuttin' down all the fellas..
whatever you need, girls it's all me.. Your soldier
your friend or your lover, girl, I wanna
be...
Girl I wanna be, I wanna be.... sigh.. I wanna be, I wanna be...

**ever feel that you wish there is one guy who will sing this to you..someone who will not be afraid to let you know that he is really there for you that he is not afraid to let you know how he feels about you...i wish i can find that type of guy...i wish i can fall in love again....

Movie Review:

Twilight (2008)

RATED B

If the droolingly awaited big-screen version of Twilight is any indication, sanpaku eyes are the new cheekbones. Marilyn Monroe and JFK both had sexy sanpakus (in which the white of the orb is strikingly visible below the iris), and so does Robert Pattinson, the young British heartthrob who plays Edward Cullen, Twilight's dreamy, sculpted hunk of a teenage vampire. With pasty skin, red lips, and those peepers that pop open wide with a touch of madness, Pattinson has a look so broodingly unearthly it's no wonder he doesn't sprout fangs. His creepy bedroom stare is a special effect all its own.

Here, as in Stephenie Meyer's 2005 novel, Edward is Romeo, Heathcliff, James Dean, and Brad Pitt all rolled into one: a scruffy-gorgeous bloodsucker pinup who is really an angelic protector. When Bella (Kristen Stewart), who has come to Forks, Wash., to live with her police-chief dad, sits next to Edward in biology class, he acts like he's suffering a seizure (or an attack of bad Mexican food). But it's only because he can barely control himself around her. It's no surprise that Bella tunes out the other kids, even as they try to befriend her. They don't make her tingle with the fear of her own desire. Edward, like any good vampire, has a predatory glamour. As Bella gets to know him, what's irresistible to her is that he promises not a blood consummation but its very opposite: a refusal to give in to the hunger that tempts him most.

For girls, the intense, ego-stroking appeal of Meyer's novel was the way that Bella becomes this undead Byronic stud's soul mate without quite knowing why she's worthy. She's a Kewl Generation damsel waiting to be rescued from her jaded heart. Stewart is an ideal casting choice — she conveys Bella's detachment, as well as her need to bust through it. And getting Catherine Hardwicke to direct Twilight was a shrewd move, because the youthquake specialist of Thirteen treats teen confusion without a trace of condescension: She gets their grand passions and prickly defense mechanisms. She has reconjured Meyer's novel as a cloudburst mood piece filled with stormy skies, rippling hormones, and understated visual effects. What Hardwicke can't quite triumph over is the book's lackluster plot. On screen, Twilight is repetitive and a tad sodden, too prosaic to really soar. But Hardwicke stirs this teen pulp to a pleasing simmer.

5 Reasons Why You Guys Are Still Single

Do you find yourself wondering why most of your buddies have steady dates, yet you can barely secure a first date, let alone a second (and, playing a regular game of Mahjong and Canasta with your grandparents and their friends doesn't count)? Guys, if so, it's time to ask yourself a few
Foxy questions...

Do you... have a problem with eye contact? Even if you love everything about this other person, it won't matter, if you can't take your eyes off their body parts. They'll likely think you're out for one thing, or that you're just kind of creepy. Sure, they might be wearing something revealing, but that's no excuse to stare all night long. Get a grip and get comfortable with eye contact, which creates a much better bond.

Do you... eat like a caveman? Utensils are there for a reason -- so you can eat like a gentleman. Shoveling food into your mouth is not something you should subject your date to. Same goes for talking while chewing. Not only is it unpleasant to watch at a time when your job is to be easy on the eyes, it's a red flag that says you're a little short on self-awareness -- an important characteristic in a mate.

Do you... trim your toenails? Not that your date will necessarily see your toenails right away, but when they do end up eyeballing them, unkept toenails are a guaranteed huge turnoff. It means you don't take care of yourself, and valuing yourself is an important part of a healthy relationship. Plus, let's not forget the damage they can do to the other person's leg when you're snuggling up on the sofa watching movies.

Do you... order "everything on the side" at a restaurant? In other words, do you order like a girl? Please don't. Because if your date has to be tortured by, "I'll have the Cobb salad, but no cheese, avocado, or bacon, and dressing on the side, and the pasta, but no oil please, and extra light on the pinenuts," they may be forced to hide under the table or at least wonder what kind of demanding partner you could be. If you have dietary restrictions, do your best, just don't get into what will happen to your belly if you don't follow them.

Do you... assume you're going to strike out? The Secret said it once but we'll say it again: In a lot of ways, you manifest your own destiny. So, if you have lots of thoughts about being unlucky in love, you may be pushing people away in ways you may not even know. If you assume the worst of the world and yourself, spend a few minutes before your date making a mental list of why you're looking for a relationship and why you are an incredible a catch.

Nickelback - Gotta Be Somebody

This time, I wonder what it feels like,
To find the one in this life,
The one we all dream of,
But dreams aren't just not enough.
So I'll be waiting for the real thing,
I'll know it by the feeling,
The moment when we're meeting,
Will play out like a scene,
Straight off the silver screen,
So I'll be holding my own breath,
Right up 'til the end,
Until the moment when,
I'll find the one that
I'll spend forever with.

'Cause nobody wants to be last one there,
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares,
Someone to love with my life in their hands,
There's gotta be somebody for me like that,
'Cause nobody wants to do it on their own,
And everyone wants to know they're not alone,
There's Somebody else that feels the same somewhere,
There's gotta be somebody for me out there.

Tonight, out on the street, out in the moonlight,
And damnit this feels too right,
It's just like deja'vu,
Me standing here with you,
So i'll be holdling my own breath,
Could this be the end,
Is it that moment when,
I'll find the one that I'll spend forever with.

You can't give up,
Looking for a diamond in the rough,
(Because you'll never know)
When it shows up,
(Make sure you're holding on)
'Cause it could it be the one,
The one you're waiting on.

'Cause nobody wants to be last one there,
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares,
Someone to love with my life in there hands,
There's gotta be somebody for me, ohhhhh,
Nobody wants to do it all on their own,
And everyone wants to know they're not alone,
There's Somebody else that feels the same somewhere,

There's gotta be somebody for me out there,
Nobody wants to be last one there,
'Cause everyone wants to feel like someone cares,
There's Somebody else that feels the same somewhere,
There's gotta be somebody for me out there.

*** its just so inspiring how the lyrics goes.. i simply love it and its so true too =) i just wanna share with you guys here this really wonderful song! There's gotta be somebody for me out there i believe =D

The Butterfly Lovers or Liang Zhu is a Chinese legend about the tragic romance between two lovers, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, from whom the name of the legend is known in Chinese(梁山伯與祝英台, pinyin: Liáng Shānbó yǔ Zhù Yīngtái, often abbreviated as "梁祝", Liáng-Zhù). The legend is sometimes regarded as the Chinese equivalent to Romeo and Juliet.

The story goes like this:

The legend of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai is a beautiful, doleful, and moving love story .The story is set in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.

It begins with a beautiful, intelligent young woman named Zhu Yingtai from Shangyu, Zhejiang, who is the ninth child and the only daughter of the wealthy noble Zhu family. After much effort, she convinced her father to let her disguise herself as a young man traveling to Hangzhou to study. During her journey, she encountered Liang Shanbo, a scholar from Kuaiji (會稽, Kuàijī, now known as Shaoxing), in the same province. They felt like old friends at the first meeting. Therefore, they gathered some soil as incense and took vows of brotherhood in the pavilion of a thatched bridge.

For the three years in school, they shared the same room where there was only one bed and two quilts. Yingtai slowly fell in love with Shanbo. Although being every bit Yingtai's equal in studies, Shanbo was a bookworm and did not see any traces of female characteristics in Yingtai.

Time flew by quickly. Three years passed, and one day Yingtai received a letter from her father asking her to return home as quickly as possible. Yingtai had no alternative but to pack her belongings immediately and bid farewell. In Yingtai’s heart, she had decided that even if heaven and earth passed away, her love for Liang Shanbo would never change, and she wanted to be with him for all eternity. Hence, before her departure, Yingtai revealed her true identity to her headmaster's wife and requested the headmaster’s wife to hand her jade pendant as a betrothal gift to Shanbo.

Liang Shanbo, being Yingtai’s sworn brother, accompanied Yingtai for 18 miles to send her off. During the journey, Yingtai hinted to Shanbo that she was a girl. For example, she compared themselves to a pair of mandarin ducks, but Shanbo did not catch onto her hidden meaning and did not even have the slightest suspicion that she was a girl. Finally Yingtai thought of an idea: she told Shanbo that she would be a matchmaker and match make Shanbo with her sister. Before the two parted, Yingtai reminded Shanbo to pay a visit to her house so that he can propose a marriage to her "sister" (who was really herself). Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai reluctantly took leave of each other at the pavilion where they had first met.

When Shanbo arrived at Yingtai’s home, he discovered her true gender. They were devoted to and passionate about each other, and the lovers vowed that if they cannot live together, they will die together. The joy of the reunion of the two came to an end when Yingtai told Shanbo that her parents had forced her to marry Ma Wencai (馬文才, Mǎ Wéncái), a rich and spoiled gentleman.

Liang Shanbo was heartbroken. His health slowly deteriorated until he became seriously ill and later died in his office as a county magistrate.

On the day Yingtai was to be married to Ma Wencai, whirlwinds prevented the wedding procession from escorting Yingtai beyond Shanbo’s tomb. Yingtai left the procession to pay her respects for Shanbo. Yingtai descended in bitter despair and begged the grave to open up. Suddenly there was a clap of thunder, and the tomb opened as Yingtai had wished. Without hesitation, Yingtai leapt into the grave to join her beloved Shanbo. Yingtai and Shanbo's spirits had turned into a pair of beautiful butterflies and emerged from the tomb, flying together among the flowers forever, never to be apart again.

Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you can find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous.

**i agree on this =) next!

You men have no idea what we're dealing with down there. Teeth placement, and jaw stress, and suction, and gag reflex, and all the while bobbing up and down, moaning and trying to breathe through our noses. Easy? Honey, they don't call it a job for nothing.

** i guess that's why there are a lot of misunderstanding between a male and a female because they simply don't listen what they need to hear. next! i really love this... Some love stories aren't epic novels, some are short stories. But, that doesn't make them any less filled with love. And we were dressed from head to toe in love... the only label that never goes out of style.

ever heard the song from the movie "Music and Lyrics- Way back into Love"

I've been living with a shadow overhead
I've been sleeping with a cloud above my bed
I've been lonely for so long

Trapped in the past
I just can't seem to move on I've been hiding all my hopes and dreams away
Just in case I ever need them again someday
I've been setting aside time
To clear a little space in the corners of my mind

All I want to do is find a way back into love

I can't make it through without a way back into love

Oh oh oh

I've been watching but the stars refuse to shine
I've been searching but i just don't see the signs I know that it's out there
There's got to be something for my soul somewhere
I've been looking for someone to shed some light

Not somebody just to get me through the night
I could use some direction
And I'm open to your suggestions
All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart again
I guess I'm hoping you'll be there for me in the end
Oh oh oh

There are moments when I don't know if it's real

Or if anybody feels the way I feel
I need inspiration
Not just another negotiation

All I want to do is find a way back into love
I can't make it through without a way back into love
And if I open my heart to you
I'm hoping you'll show me what to do
And if you help me to start again
You know that I'll be there for you in the end

Oh oh oh

*****I simply love this song because it just says there is someone out there for everyone. Like how this song is being sang to i pray one day i can find a way back into Love...someday in God's time =) I'm not giving up on Love =p i know my true love is just out there and i know i will meet him soon =)

The American bias against a black president ended last Nov. 4, 2008 with the runaway victory of Barack Obama over Republican John McCain.
The racial barrier is as old as America. however, 145 years ago, Abraham Lincoln, a fellow Illinois politicians, issued the emancipation act the freed African- Americans from enslavement. In a way, that opened the door for Obama.
The world has hailed Barack's victory. His dramatic victory statement---"Change has come to America"----will surely stimulate a lot of expectations and countless commentaries.
Breaking the last barrier with the election of the first black president is not the only change that happened. There are other changes worth mentioning that might strike a favorable chord among Filipinos.
The first is still a hope, an expectation. Citizens of the world cheered the election of Obama for, as one newspaper said, " ratcheting hopes that he would herald a more balanced and less controversial America."
When he started to seek the presidency, Obama was pictured as a relative unknown and inexperienced. Although a senator, he was only a first termer and really did not belong to the "Old Boys Network."
Given the right credentials, can a candidate in this country win without a high pedigree, without the blessings of the dominant and ruling parties, without the support of a political dynasty, without the name-recall of an entertainment idol?
Obama was a community worker. In our local elections, NGOs and even church workers don't make it to the winniing circle. They are sometimes lumped together as activists, militants and leftists.Do they now have hope after Obama's win?
By American standards, Obama was poor compared to McCain. Obama did not rely on big organizations and rich friends. Will the day come when people stop asking money from candidates, or better still contribute to the campaign of poor but qualified candidates?
The last lesson is the George W. Bush factor. Candidates should not be pulled down by his closed association with an unpopular outgoing leader. Ideally, a candidate should come out the winner according to his own merits.

A big change happened in America; it could also happen here in the Philippines that i pray. Nothing is impossible just believe my friends.

One way of ousting a public official like a president from his/her post is by filing an impeachment complaint at the House of Representatives. But the filing of an impeachment complaints by the opposition against President Arroyo for alleged corruption is futile and a waste of time. It will not prosper for lack of proof. Her critics should have instead waited until she uses up her term of office in 2010, which is just around the corner. And granting without admitting that she committed illegal acts like graft, nonetheless she also has several accomplishments, like the implementation of road and electrification projects, which i personally think are really good. As to the claims of corrupts acts, these are false allegations done by her critics to malign and ruin her good reputation and credibility in public office.

The President of the Philippines, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, possesses many records. Elected as Senator during her first try in politics in 1992, she was re-elected Senator in 1995 with nearly 16 million votes, the highest number of votes in Philippine history. She was elected Vice President of the Philippines in 1998 with almost 13 million votes, the largest mandate in the history of presidential or vice presidential elections. She was sworn in as the 14th President of the Philippines on 20 January 2001 by Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. after the Supreme Court unanimously declared the position of President vacant, the second woman to be swept into the Presidency by a peaceful People Power revolution (EDSA II).

The President, born in April 5, 1947, is the daughter of the late President Diosdado Macapagal, a successor of Lakandula and fondly known as the "poor boy from Lubao" in the province of Pampanga; and Dr. Evangelina Macaraeg-Macapagal of Binalonan, Pangasinan, who were well known for their integrity and simple but distinguished lifestyle. During the Presidency of Diosdado Macapagal, the Philippines was second only to Japan in economic progress in Asia.

Gloria maintained the high academic standards of her parents, graduating valedictorian of her high school class in Assumption Convent. She was consistently on the Dean's List during her two-year college time at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where former US President Bill Clinton became her classmate. She graduated magna cum laude from Assumption College with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce. She later earned a Master of Arts degree in Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of the Philippines.

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo began her professional career as a teacher at Assumption College. She later became Assistant Professor at the Ateneo de Manila University, and Senior Lecturer at the UP School of Economics.

Macapagal-Arroyo entered government service as an Assistant Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry during the Aquino Administration. She also became Executive Director of the Garments and Textile Export Board, steering the garments industry to become the top net dollar earner for the country, and rose to the rank of Undersecretary of Trade and Industry. During her term in the Senate, she authored 55 laws on economic and social reform and was named outstanding Senator several times. When she was elected Vice President, President Joseph Estrada appointed her as simultaneous Secretary of Social Welfare and Development, a post she held until her resignation from the Cabinet on 12 October 2000.

*** honestly speaking, for a person who never grew up in the Philippines but outside the country itself i cant help but feel that Filipinos here are so narrow minded ( some of them ) sadly to say whenever you see people doing a rally of some sort and just ask one of these people some will say they are there for the sake of free food, entertainment or just there for money. yeah! i know that we have such freedom to do this kind of thing but some are totally clueless about what is really going on. I just find it so "stupid" when some of these people say "bring down Arroyo!" yes! i understand that but who will you put instead?! im not saying that she is all prefect too but ever think of this since she has been the leader of the country so many changes has happen! and the debt that our country has been suffering for such a long time is slowly being paid of! so which Leader of this country has done that so far?!

BERLIN - An American man who suffered from AIDS appears to have been cured of the disease 20 months after receiving a targeted bone marrow transplant normally used to fight leukemia, his doctors said Wednesday.

While researchers - and the doctors themselves - caution that the case might be no more than a fluke, others say it may inspire a greater interest in gene therapy to fight the disease that claims two million lives each year. The virus has infected 33 million people worldwide.

Dr. Gero Huetter said his 42-year-old patient, an American living in Berlin who was not identified, had been infected with the AIDS virus for more than a decade. But 20 months after undergoing a transplant of genetically selected bone marrow, he no longer shows signs of carrying the virus.

"We waited every day for a bad reading," Huetter said.

It has not come. Researchers at Berlin's Charite hospital and medical school say tests on his bone marrow, blood and other organ tissues have all been clean.

However, Dr. Andrew Badley, director of the HIV and immunology research lab at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., said those tests have probably not been extensive enough.

"A lot more scrutiny from a lot of different biological samples would be required to say it's not present," Badley said.

This isn't the first time marrow transplants have been attempted for treating AIDS or HIV infection. In 1999, an article in the journal Medical Hypotheses reviewed the results of 32 attempts reported between 1982 and 1996. In two cases, HIV was apparently eradicated, the review reported.

Huetter's patient was under treatment at Charite for both AIDS and leukemia, which developed unrelated to HIV.

As Huetter - who is a hematologist, not an HIV specialist - prepared to treat the patient's leukemia with a bone marrow transplant, he recalled that some people carry a genetic mutation that seems to make them resistant to HIV infection. If the mutation, called Delta 32, is inherited from both parents, it prevents HIV from attaching itself to cells by blocking CCR5, a receptor that acts as a kind of gateway.

"I read it in 1996, coincidentally," Huetter told reporters at the medical school. "I remembered it and thought it might work."

Roughly one in 1,000 Europeans and Americans have inherited the mutation from both parents, and Huetter set out to find one such person among donors that matched the patient's marrow type. Out of a pool of 80 suitable donors, the 61st person tested carried the proper mutation.

Before the transplant, the patient endured powerful drugs and radiation to kill off his own infected bone marrow cells and disable his immune system - a treatment fatal to between 20 and 30 per cent of recipients.

He was also taken off the potent drugs used to treat his AIDS. Huetter's team feared that the drugs might interfere with the new marrow cells' survival. They risked lowering his defences in the hopes that the new mutated cells would reject the virus on their own.

Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases in the U.S., said the procedure was too costly and too dangerous to employ as a first-line cure. But he said it could inspire researchers to pursue gene therapy as a means to block or suppress HIV.

"It helps prove the concept that if somehow you can block the expression of CCR5, maybe by gene therapy, you might be able to inhibit the ability of the virus to replicate," Fauci said.

David Roth, a professor of epidemiology and international public health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, said gene therapy as cheap and effective as current drug treatments is in very early stages of development.

"That's a long way down the line because there may be other negative things that go with that mutation that we don't know about."

For the patient in Berlin, the lack of a clear understanding of exactly why his AIDS has disappeared means his future is far from certain.

"The virus is wily," Huetter said. "There could always be a resurgence."

I believe someone somewhere someone will come to my way who will make me complete again someone who will make me smile again someone who will really see my worth. I'm not looking for a perfect person because there is no such person. i just want someone who will love me for me despite all my flaws all my negative self because i am not perfect too. i was not born perfect though i wish i am sometimes.I cry a lot, i get jealous when you don't notice me, i like attention most especially from the one i care and love a lot , i love to be love, sing me songs when I'm blue or down, someone i can be myself with, no matter how silly or dumb i can be at times he will laugh with me not at me, when someone says i am ugly or stupid he will defend me, when it rains he and i will play in the rain like there is no tomorrow, when i cry he will the one who wipes my tears away and tell me that everything will be alright; he will always be there for me same goes to me for him, whenever he feels down i will make sure he knows im just here if he needs me. that's how much i will love him more than i can give most especially if its God who made it all happen....for the one who is for me i will wait for you no matter what because i know when the time comes this broken heart of mine will be healed and never cry a bitter cry again.. I love you so much i hope i can see you soon....my true love......

I remember when I met you
the smile on your face,
Seems like a million years ago -
a different time and place

I remember when I kissed you
the warmth inside my heart,
I thought it'd last a lifetime
I swore we'd never part

I thought about the future
I started making plans,
Forever I'll be your woman

forever you'll be my man

We went together places
so that everyone could see,
The man that I want to share
the rest of my life with me

I told you that I loved you
I told you that I cared,
I told you if you were falling
just look back and I'd be there

I know I didn't have all the answers

sometimes I only guessed,
But, through it all I have to say
"I always tried my best"

I wasn't always perfect
I wasn't always right,
I know sometimes I wasn't
even worthy in your sight

I know you took me for granted
the love i had to share,
All I ever wanted was
for you to know I cared

Our lives have changed directions
as sometimes lovers do,
Often time and change
and pave a path that's new

Sometimes I often wondered
just what lies ahead,
Sometimes I'd like to turn back time

and take back what I said

We've both gone different places
we've both gone different ways,
I know sometimes I let you down
when trouble came our way

I know sometimes I did things
you didn't comprehend,

But, through the days and all the tears
our memories will never end....

All apologies
Because I can't promise you anything
I understand it but I can't take your hint
All apologies
Because I'm unable to grant you your wishes
Even though we already had an agreement

I tried to show you my devotion
But I was overwhelmed by the frustration
I tried to give you my commitment
But I'm not use to dedication
I'm staring at a disturbing future
As long as I don't free myself from the curse
Because I know I can't carry on without you in the picture

I can't go to the places you know
Because I can't unburden my load
All the things I said were real
Even though they didn't mean a great deal
All those words came from my soul
And its up to you to decide
Whether it is a plot or a joke

Take me out to the open field
Take me out of this invisible shield
I'll try not to disappoint you
I'll try to enlighten you about the truth
If only I can stop myself from running away
If only I can find a way
I wanted to tell you that
I'll love you no matter what my conscious says...

sometimes things happen we don't want to happen we also get our hearts broken for the first time

sometimes we cant really get over it but we know we will never forget it even if we want too

but despite all that we know we have grown stronger by faith and by our bond with

the people that really matters, our family

i know it is hard but things always get better i believe

honestly, its harder to do it than to say it

but i just keep my prayers and family close because through them I'm stronger

so come what may

problems and trails always come and go but one will forever be there that is God's Love

one day, i know that right person will come in HIS time and knowing it

I'm getting so excited because i know when that person comes i will never shed a tear anymore...
